England and Scotland to wear poppies on shirts – 3/1

Paddy Power is offering odds of 3/1 that England and Scotland players will wear poppies on their shirts when the two teams meet on November 11th

FIFA has enforced a ban on political, religious and commercial messages on shirts – and the debate on whether or not players should be allowed to wear poppies has sparked outrage in the UK.

England’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland takes place on Armistice day, when the nation will come together to pay their respects and remember the war dead.

The ruling has prompted the FA to hold talks with the world governing body on the issue, with a decision expected in the coming days.

Both football associations will be desperate to resolve the situation with FIFA able to hand out sanctions including fines – and even worse points deductions – for ignoring the ban.

England welcome Scotland to Wembley on November 11th, where Gareth Southgate’s side are 1/3 to win the game against old rivals Scotland. Gordon Strachan’s men are available at 8/1, with the draw priced at 7/2.
