We’ve slashed odds of Meghan and Harry’s baby being born this week

Ah bless

We have slashed the odds of Meghan Markle giving birth this week, as speculation ramps up on when hers and Prince Harry’s first child will be born.

We now make it just 2/1 that the Royal baby arrives before Sunday, in from 5/1 last week. That makes this week the most likely of all, with April 15-22 and 22-29 both rated 4/1. And, the likelihood of the baby sharing a birthday with the Queen (April 21) has also fallen- from 7/1 to 5/1.

Meanwhile, Diana is still the clear favourite for the name of the couple’s first child at 3/1. Grace is next up in the betting (7/1), followed by Alexandrina – Queen Victoria’s original name – at 12/1.

It is also rated odds-on that the baby is a girl (4/7) or 5/4 to be a boy – where the most likely names are Charles (13/1), James or Edward (both 14/1)

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “We’ve slashed the odds of Meghan and Harry’s first child to be born this week, as fans anticipate an April arrival. Who knows, the baby could even arrive as a perfect distraction to the UK’s latest Brexit departure date – Friday.

“Meanwhile, it is now odds-on that they have a little girl, with Diana still rated the most-likely choice of name.”
