With the pressure building on Theresa May to resign, we’ve slashed our odds on the PM stepping down this month by more than half overnight.
Today, we’ve got odds of just 2/1 that May quits her post in October – in from 5/1 yesterday.
We’ve also cut the price of May departing this year from 5/2 to 6/4 overnight.
Whenever she goes, our traders are convinced that she is going, and soon – they make it odds-on that May stands down within a year (1/2).
It’s now very short odds that May won’t complete this term of Parliament as Prime Minister (1/10), and a short price that the British public will be subjected to yet another General Election within twelve months of the last (9/4).
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “The odds of Theresa May leaving her role have been dropping quicker than those letters on the wall at the Tory Conference.
“From that point on, it was clear that the writing was on the wall for Theresa – although, well, it wasn’t, because even that was shoddily prepared by the Conservatives.”
