Our Latest US Election Betting Trends
The US Presidential election betting odds are favouring Hilary Clinton but its Donald Trump who is the preferred candidate with women bettors.
Our statistics department have dug up some interesting findings such as Trump, who has struggled amongst women voters in the polls, being more likely to attract bets from females as opposed to males.
To date, 73% of all bets placed by the fairer sex on the Presidential betting market have been backing Trump to win the election while only 55% of bets placed by men have been on the Republican candidate.
Féilim Mac An Iomaire, a spokesperson for Paddy Power, said “Odds-against shots, such as Trump, generally tend to attract a higher number of stakes than heavy favourites such as Hillary but there is a clear division amongst the genders. The Donald may be shipping criticism in relation to his comments towards women but that hasn’t stopped them from putting their hard earned on him winning the election.”
Last week we paid out over $1 million on Hilary Clinton to become the next US president since then Trump’s odds have shortened following a string of bets. The billionaire businessman is now 4/1 to be elected having been 9/2 earlier this morning but Hillary remains the heavy 1/5 favourite.
