Paddy Power are running a FREE fantasy contest on Friday night for the big Bundesliga clash which sees Freiburg hosting Borussia Monchengladbach. Both teams are in the top half of the table and are still in the mix for Europa and Champions League berths respectively.
Freiburg have yet to win a game since the resumption of the Bundesliga and are losing ground in the battle for a Europa League spot, they desperately need a victory. Meanwhile, ‘Gladbach sit in fourth place and are occupying the last, lucrative Champions League place.
They will need a victory to keep up the pace and have won two of their four games since the return of the league, scoring eight goals in the process.

You will have a budget of £50 to select five players for your team.
The first player is your captain, he is the most important player you select as any points he scores will be multiplied by 1.5. So, your captain will score 50% more than the other members of your squad.
You will then need to select three forwards/midfielders, any combination of those three will do, and finally you will have to select a defensive player.
Points are allotted for all sorts of actions throughout the game. The highest points are awarded for goals and assists, but points are also given for the likes of crosses, blocks, and shots on goal.
That means there are plenty of ways for your players to rack up points. Now that we know about the system and scoring, let’s have a look at some players who could score big.
Captain Marvellous
Marcus Thuram – FWD – MONCHENGLADBACH – £15
As we’ve mentioned, your captain is the pivotal player on your squad. With the bonus awarded to him it is crucial that you get this pick right. Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, son of legendary French defender Lilian Thuram, has been on fire since the league resumed, banging in four goals in four games.
The French international looks very hungry and is involved in everything ‘Gladbach do going forward. He looks an ideal candidate for the armband given his current rich vein of form.
FWD/MID options
Nils Petersen -FWD- FREIBURG – £12
While Marcus Thuram has thrived since the restart, the same cannot be said about Freiburg’s top scorer Nils Petersen. The veteran German international has only found the back of the net once, but he remains Freiburg’s top marksman this season with nine goals over the season, as well as adding a couple of assists.
His goal two games back against Eintracht Frankfurt snapped a nine-game goalless drought and was perhaps a sign that he is getting back in the groove.
Christoph Kramer – MID – MONCHENGLADBACH – £6
Those looking for a cheap midfield option to pad out their team could do worse that Christoph Kramer.
‘Gladbach’s defensive midfielder is rumoured to be back in the starting XI for this game and has the potential to score some points. Kramer’s tackling should ensure points in that department and if his team attack as much as anticipated, he could even chip in with an assist.
Defender
Robin Kock – Freiburg – £6
Freiburg’s young centre half has been described as one of the most promising defenders in Germany and has been called up to the senior squad by Joachim Löw.
Kock is aerially dominant and can use his 6’3″ frame to cause havoc at set pieces. He will also get his fair share of defensive points from tackles, clearances and interceptions. This versatile defender looks good value at his price.
Don’t forget that the game kicks off at 7.30pm and entries must be in by then, so good luck with your selections. You can enjoy all the action from the Schwarzwald-Stadion on BT Sports 1.
