When you finish a week of daily fantasy football it’s not uncommon to wonder what the perfect line-up would’ve looked like. Each week of the NFL season, Paddy Power Fantasy is going to share that information with you.
Week 1’s line-up is listed below for the Sunday main slate of games.
Paddy Power News will have pieces throughout the week on the Fantasy tab that’ll hopefully help you find a perfect line-up, or at least a winning one, in Week 2.
QB – Lamar Jackson (BAL) – 33.56
With Joe Flacco no longer considered elite enough for the Ravens, big things were expected of second-year QB Lamar Jackson this season, and he couldn’t have had a better time of it in his dreams than against the Dolphins in Week 1, who appear to have given up already.
RB – Christian McCaffrey (CAR) – 37.9
The Panthers were barged aside by the NFC champion Rams, but that wasn’t because their running-back failed to show up on Sunday. McCaffrey made a good start towards justifying high preseason hopes.
RB – Austin Ekeler (LAC) – 36.4
To paraphrase Jerry Jones, Melvin who? Odds are that some in the 30,000 capacity Dignity Health Sports Park were actually supporting the home team on Sunday, and they’ll have been thrilled to see Ekeler rip it up against the Colts in the absence of holdout headache Melvin Gordon. Roll on Week 2.
WR – Sammy Watkins (KC) – 42.3
The former 1st overall pick went to town on the Jaguars, meaning the Chiefs barely missed a beat despite Tyreek Hill heading to the emergency ward during the game. The problem with Watkins is that he’s never put together full, productive season. Here’s another opportunity to put that right.
WR – DeSean Jackson (PHI) – 31.4
Home sweet home. The tearaway speedster made his name in Philly green before skipping around over to NFC East rivals Washinton and on to the Bucs, but now he’s back and it’s like he never left.
WR – John Ross (CIN) – 31.3
The lesser-spotted John Ross almost clawed the Bengals to a victory in Seattle’s fearsome home despite Joe Mixon getting hurt and Andy Dalton being his quarterback. With AJ Green likely to miss another few weeks, the opportunity will be there for Ross to solidify his spot in Cincy.
TE – Evan Engram (NYG) – 23.1
Eli Manning’s four-year retirement tour continues to gather momentum. Fortunately for Engram pickers it didn’t tank his value as the Cowboys belittled their divisional rivals and surely brought Manning’s forward to 2022 at the latest.
FLEX – Marquise Brown (BAL) – 28.7
Ravens rookie Brown feasted on the Dolphins losing the will to play and also ensured that every commentator knows his nickname is “Hollywood” with his spectacular two-touchdown debut.
D/ST – San Francisco 49ers – 24
An assist to Jameis Winston on this, who did his best to look worse than opposite QB Jimmy Garoppolo, throwing three interceptions in a horrible loss on what was supposed to be his emergence as a fantasy football powerhouse. Richard Sherman & Co wish they could play him every week.
