This 5/2 NBA double from our basketball traders could net you a pretty profit

Our traders look ahead to an interesting night's NBA action and pick a tasty double from two of the games...

Orlando Magic at Phoenix Suns: Magic (-3.5) @ 10/11

After a strong start to the season, the Magic seem to have slowed down and are 7-4 now, while the Suns (4-8) disappointing season keeps rumbling on.

With 115.8 points conceded per match, Phoenix have the second-worst defence in the league. They concede a Field Goal percentage of 47% and 38% from the three-point line.

Both statistics put them in the top five worst defensive teams in the league.

Orlando concede 105.6 points per match and with just 31.6% conceded from the three-point line they are the second-best team defending from the arc. At the same time they shoot for three with a percentage of 40.6% – a statistic that makes them (again) the second-best team in the league.

The Suns have lost their last four matches, and despite having finally parted ways with Eric Bledsoe, in Greg Monroe they haven’t acquired a player that will make them better this season. The Magic are not in the best form at the moment, having won only three out of the last five matches, but we like the match ups in this game and we think that they will cover the spread against a team that is probably already looking into the draft and building the future.

Milwaukee Bucks at San Antonio Spurs: Spurs (-5) @ 10/11

After a slow start the Spurs seem to have found their mojo and are 7-4 for the season. The Bucks, on the other hand – despite Antetokounmpo putting up MVP numbers – are struggling and are just 4-6.

With Leonard and Parker still injured the Spurs are not scoring much, just 101.7 points per game, but their defence is working well, allowing just 100.6 points. Milwaukee are scoring 105.4 per match but by conceding 108.7 points per match they have the seventh-worst defence in the league, conceding 40.5% from the three points line, second-worst in the league behind only the Cavaliers.

The Spurs come into the match with good momentum.

They’ve won their last 3 matches, all played at home, while the Bucks will merely be trying to stop a streak of four losses on the bounce. New arrival Eric Bledsoe may be available, but we think that the Spurs will have enough to win and cover the spread.

Odds correct at time of posting.
