Get in the fast lane with our two top tips on the Mexican Grand Prix

With the Drivers’ Championship set to be wrapped up we decided to get your engines revving elsewhere…

Lewis Hamilton will pull his Mercedes out of the garage in Mexico on Sunday knowing that all he needs is a fifth-place finish or better to surpass his hero Ayrton Senna in the world championship stakes and claim the title for a fourth time.

With the Constructors’ Championship already in the bag and, as long as Hamilton can keep the car on the track, you’d expect Mercedes to have Formula 1’s two richest prizes parked come late Sunday night.

However, that doesn’t mean the action won’t be hotter than Sebastian Vettel’s temper come race time. So, we’ve decided to give you a steer towards a delightful double…

Kimi Raikkonen to grab a podium finish – 2/1

Kimi Raikkonen typically drove well to step onto the podium in Austin, Texas last week and looked surprisingly faster than teammate Sebastian Vettel near the end of the race.

The track and conditions in Mexico is also expected to favour Ferrari over Mercedes this weekend.

With Valtteri Bottas’ form hitting the tyres in the second half of the season, put the pedal to the floor on this 2/1 punt.

Sergio Perez Top 6 finish – 9/4

The crash-happy Mexican has been quiet enough (thankfully for the other drivers) in the past few races.

However, we’re expecting a big performance from him in his home Grand Prix at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and that has us turning our wheel towards a tempting 2/1.

With a couple of Top 10 finishes on home tarmac in his last two outings, we believe Perez will keep himself out of trouble long enough to slip into sixth or better this weekend.
