A couple of weekends ago a customer known as CJK, based in Manchester, decided to sign up to Paddy Power. What happened next, you ask?
Well, within just two hours she officially became one of the luckiest – or jammiest, depending which way you look at it – customers we’ve seen in a long time.
She decided to play Franki Dettori’s Magic Seven, and netted a cool £220,000 off a £1.25 spin… That’s what we call a job well done.
We asked her how it feels to have hit the big money, and she said:
“I didn’t believe it at first, and I’m not actually sure if I do now… I guess it’ll feel real when I see those numbers in my bank account.”
“I’m not even into horse racing as punter or anything – but I just decided to give the Dettori game a go and managed to hit the jackpot. I once won some money betting on Red Rum in the Aintree Grand National when I was younger, so maybe that influenced my choice of game.”
So, what is she going to spend her dough on?
“We have needed to do some work on our house now for a while, including fixing the roof. But I’m most looking forward to bringing my child on holiday for the first time.
“I have to get my passport renewed, though. It hasn’t been valid for ages now, because we’ve not been able to afford a holiday for so long. But that’s all changed now!”
We asked the lucky punter to sum up her wins in just a few words, and she said:
“Pure relief! Mainly that I had won a really good amount of money, with which I can now use to make some differences to the people I care about. Not only that, but I can make some necessary repairs to the house and get away on holiday. It’s unbelievable.”
