Wannabe rap sensation Honey G, who is currently dividing audiences on The X Factor, has had her first major endorsement – after hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg said he’d “drop anything” to perform with her.
It comes after the first live show, which Honey G closed, and impressed enough for Paddy Power to slash her odds of winning from 40/1 to 18/1.
That would be some accolade to put on her CV, alongside the bronze medal she won at the 1995 North American and European Maccabi Games.
Despite her, erm, unorthodox rapping style, Honey G has amassed a cult following, and has dominated news coverage of the show.
And it’s a joke that could rumble on – Paddy Power make it 7/2 that she’ll top the charts in 2017.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “H to the O to the W to the DA-HELL is Honey G still a thing?
“I know most novelty acts usually can’t sing, but she can’t rap either – and yet everyone, including Simon Cowell, loved her performance last week.
“And I really hope she goes all the way in the competition. Seeing her tackle Big Band week would really be spectacular.”
