WWE RAW Review: Here’s how Dean Ambrose and Paul Heyman f***ed with Roman Reigns seven days before Fastlane

It's the week of Fastlane, and here's how Dean Ambrose took advantage of last night's Raw to seriously mess up Roman Reigns' mental state...

This Sunday at Fastlane The Lunatic Fringe Dean Ambrose will take on his brother Roman Reigns, and The Beast, Brock Lesnar in a triple threat match for the right to face Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Granddaddy of them all, WrestleMania 32. First up though, there was business to take care of on Monday Night RAW.

Dean Ambrose opened the show and talked about last week’s show when he gave Brock Lesnar a punch to the crown jewels. He wanted Lesnar to come out so he could plant another shot in is plums, but instead Stephanie McMahon appears and tells Dean Ambrose that he’s going to have to spend the evening defending his Intercontinental Title in a fatal-five-way. Poor old Dean. Sometimes in life it pays to keep quiet, pal. Stop digging holes for yourself.

Kevin Owens, Stardust, Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler were the men chosen to take on Ambrose for the IC Title, and it was Owens who came out on top. The match itself was a good one and actually contained a great finish. As Dean Amrode hit Stardust with Dirty Deeds, Ziggler came in and hit Ambrose simultaneously with a Zig-Zag, planting¬†Ambrose and Stardust on the canvas. Tyler Breeze appeared and threw Ziggler out of the ring before turning around in to a Pop-Up Powerbomb courtesy of Kevin Owens. That was enough for the 1-2-3 and KO became a two-time Intercontinental Champ. It’s all teed up for Owens vs Ziggler at Fastlane.

As for Dean Ambrose, he lost the title without ever getting pinned. But he’s got more important things to worry about this Sunday…

Later on in the evening Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman picked up the mic and hyped up Sunday’s Main Event. Roman Reigns, one of the main event competitors, came down to confront Heyman and the The Advocate was quick to remind Reigns what is at stake. Heyman went as far as name-dropping Roman’s wife and baby daughter, before pointing out that if Reigns was to win the match and Sunday and thus keep the promise he made to his family, he would need to beat his good friend Dean Ambrose.

It’s time to choose – your daughter or your best friend. Heyman nailed Roman with some classic mind games. And it only got worse.

After Roman and Heyman shook hands, those damn Dudleys appeared and started giving Reigns a good ol’ fashioned beating. Presumably Heyman had promised them fried chicken all night, or possibly some more camo-shorts, either way the Dudley Boyz were more than happy to put a couple of softeners on Roman Reigns for Heyman.

That was until Dean Ambrose predictably appeared to save his brother. The two gave the Dudleys a few slaps before the partners from Dudley Ville made a swift retreat. As Ambrose and Reigns hugged it out, Ambrose threatened to give Reigns a Dirty Deeds and pointed to the WrestleMania sign hanging above the ring. As if Roman’s head wasn’t messed up enough.

The two gave each other a loving fist-bump at the end, but there’ll be no hugs and kisses on Sunday at Fastlane…
