The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting occasion in America – but some people just tune in for the halftime show.

A repeat of the 2023 Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles is the principle action on Sunday, 9th February, but one of the world’s biggest music artists will also get a chance to take to the field at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana to belt out a few tunes.

Usher, Rihanna and The Weeknd are among the recent headliners and, sometimes, the break provides more entertainment than the sporting spectacle. Yeah, that’s right, we’re talking about the Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake incident…

Who is performing the Super Bowl 2025 halftime show?

Kendrick Lamar has been confirmed as the headline act for the Super Bowl 2025 halftime show.

It caps off an incredible year for the rapper in which he released one of the biggest songs of 2024 which cleaned up at last weekend’s Grammy Awards.

Lamar rose to prominence with his 2012 album ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D City’ and has cemented his position as one of hip-hop’s leading figures.

He has already performed at the Super Bowl having joined Dr Dre on stage three years ago.

Speculation has begun about who might join the Not Like Us rapper on stage, with singer SZA confirmed and collaborators Baby Keem, Future and Metro Boomin among the possible guest stars.

What time does the Super Bowl 2025 halftime show start?

You’ll need to stay up pretty late to catch Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show.

The ‘Humble’ rapper is expected to take to the field from around 01:15 for viewers in the UK and Ireland, which is nearly two hours after Super Bowl LIX kicks off.

Super Bowl 2025 will be broadcast free to air in the UK on ITV1 and viewers in Ireland can catch the action on Virgin Media Two. They’ll both be showing all of the halftime show.
