Moneyline – Eagles to Win
The Chiefs have found ways to win every single week this season. And most of them haven’t even made sense.
There’s nonsensical murmurs about the refs being on their side. That’s pathetic. But what is undeniable is that they’re not as good as their record suggests, nor was their path to this point particularly difficult outside of playing Buffalo a fortnight ago.
The Eagles will be the best team they’ve played all year, and they won’t be able to dial up exotic blitzes if Philly are committed to running with Saquon Barkley on early downs.
Buffalo felt like a team who ran the ball just to pass more effectively. Philly are the reverse of that, and it makes gameplanning so much tougher.
One too many for Patrick Mahomes.
Total Points – Over 48.5
The Eagles don’t run the ball three and four yards at a time. They can – but it’s not their MO. You normally avoid teams who run the ball this much, but there’s no fear of that with Kellen Moore.
They operate in quick strikes and get their interior pass rush back out there to avoid the need for Jalen Hurts to throw thirty times.
The Chiefs? They know they won’t be winning time of possession, so they’ll likely use a tonne of motion to get advantageous looks for their nimble wideouts to keep Jalen Carter and co from collapsing the pocket around Mahomes.
This game will be a slugfest with both sides going for the knockout blow time and time again.
Saquon Barkley to Score Two or More Touchdowns
He just will. I’ve given up the idea that he’s a simple anytime touchdown scorer bet – or a first touchdown scorer bet. This run game is so sophisticated and he’s just so elusive, that he only needs KC to not plug a gap once – and he’s gone.
Well, twice in this instance, but you know what I mean.
Barkley is the first option for this team. Barkley is the second option for this team. And even when they choose to pass the ball, he’s the third option there too.
The one thing they cannot do at the end of this game is reflect on how it might have been different if they’d given the ball to Saquon Barkley more often.
Patrick Mahomes over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
They do not have the explosive run game that Philly do, and Zack Baun is one of the best diagnosers of the run game in the NFL.
Given they have no advantage on the interior in this one, they’ll have to push outside and that’s not how they perform best.
If they’re going to score, it’s going to be through Mahomes, like they’ve always done.
