Bills to win

I know I’m going against history here, and this would act as a real healer for the people of Buffalo, and therefore seems far-fetched – but they’re just better than the Chiefs.

For the longest time, the Bills needed to establish a run game, and due to the lack of top-tier receiving options they hadn’t, it needed to be an offseason focus. Well, here are the dividends.

As well as Josh Allen the runner, they’ve got backs who can easily be utilised in the screen game, as pass blockers – and it’s not immediately obvious what Buffalo are doing pre-snap anymore. The Chiefs still rely on an inconsistent threat in Xavier Worthy and the middle-aged corpse of Travis Kelce.

Given their run game is not enough to keep them ahead of the sticks on early downs, I think Buffalo march into Kansas and turn them over. And oh what sweet success that will be for the rest of the league.

Over 48.5 points

While I do only suspect the Chiefs find the end zone a couple of times, there’s enough sustained drives in this game to keep it ticking over with field goals. That much I’m confident on.

When Allen and Patrick Mahomes are asked to extend plays because of huge pass rush wins or receivers not getting open, they generally manage to do so. It’s in the red zone where these two get stingy – but rarely do I believe drives will end without scoring opportunity, and it’s here where I can see us just sneaking the over.

Travis Kelce Over 67.5 Receiving Yards

Houston have had answers for tight ends all year. They’re good tacklers and their linebacking corps was strong. And yet KC still found a way for Kelce to wreck the game last time out.

We spent all year convincing ourselves he was done, only for the niggling doubt in the back of minds convincing ourselves they were wrapping him up for the postseason. And, well..

Buffalo really struggled to contain Isaiah Likely an Mark Andrews last week, with the pair combing for 134 yards. Unfortunately, this is how Buffalo choose to live, and they’d rather give up conversions in the middle than explosives down the sideline.

James Cook Over 55.5 Rushing Yards

If anything, Houston should have run the ball more.

They were getting nearly five yards a carry out of Joe Mixon, and the blocking scheme they employ is similar to the one that pounds people in Buffalo over and over again. Eighty-eight yards and a score last week? The Bills’ front is an even better unit.

Josh Allen to Score Anytime

However, when push comes to shove, ultimately, Allen will keep the ball in his hands because he’s the best chance Buffalo have to convert in short yardage situations in the red zone.

That’s been proven over the course of the year, and it won’t be changing in the AFC title game.
