Saquon Barkley Anytime Touchdown

The Philadelphia Eagles host the LA Rams in the Divisional Round and Saquon Barkley, who broke punters’ hearts last week when he took a knee to secure the win rather than score a touchdown, will be expecting a big game. Earlier in the season, Barkley and the Eagles travelled to Los Angeles, and the best running back in the league put on a show.

The Eagles star amassed 302 total yards, including a career-high 255 rushing yards, and scored two touchdowns in a demolition of a Rams team who, at the time, were still finding their feet.

While the Rams went on a five-game winning streak after their 37-20 loss to Philly, much of that was due to an improved pass defense. I expect Barkley to score on Sunday.

DeVonta Smith Anytime Touchdown

DeVonta Smith missed the previous matchup between the two sides due to a hamstring injury, but since returning to fitness a month ago, he has shown just how important he is to the Eagles offence.

Smith has led the team in receiving in three of the last four games and scored three times during that stretch. Coincidentally, the only game during that stretch in which Smith didn’t lead the team was also their only loss.

The Rams’ defense has improved, and they chased Sam Darnold all over the field on Monday night, but I think Smith’s ability to get open quickly will give him a huge chance to make a big impact.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts has several options to throw to, with AJ Brown on the other side of the field from Smith, and I wouldn’t be surprised if both receivers scored; Smith is a slightly better home run threat than Brown, in my view, so I’m backing the former University of Alabama star.

Kyren Williams Anytime Touchdown

If the Rams have any hope of an upset, they will need their quarterback, Matthew Stafford, to have time to throw to the likes of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. One of the main ways they will look to open up that space is to rely on the skills of running back Kyren Williams.

The third-year pro has been a huge part of Los Angeles’s game plan every week, and he has repaid that faith with an immense scoring output.

In the 17 games Williams has played this season, he’s scored in 14 of them, including earlier in the season against Philadelphia and last weekend in the Wildcard round. Look for more of the same in the Divisional round.

Handicap: Philadelphia Eagles -6.5 Points

The Eagles are 6.5 point favourites for Sunday’s matchup and I think that is a very fair line given the difference between the two sides. A 17-point victory in Los Angeles earlier this season will give them a lot of confidence, particularly given the previously mentioned success of Barkley, who was so key to Philadelphia in that game.

In addition to their offensive prowess, the Eagles’ defense will be coming into the game after forcing three turnovers against the Green Bay Packers, and they will fancy their chances of stopping the Rams’ passing attack.

The famously passionate Eagles crowd should be going home happy and looking forward to a potential blockbuster clash with the Detroit Lions.
