NFL tips

Week 15 of the NFL season features a crunch Sunday of match action.

As the games get underway our pigskin prognosticator Ben Steele has racked up a super Multi-Match Bet Builder for the 6pm games.

NFL Sunday Multi-Match Bet Builder

6pm – Miami Dolphins @ Houston Texans
De’Von Achane Anytime Touchdown
Joe Mixon Anytime Touchdown

6pm – Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers
Rico Dowdle Over 86.5 Rushing Yards

6pm – Cincinnati Bengals @ Tennessee Titans
Ja’Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown
Ja’Marr Chase Over 89.5 Receiving Yards

Miami Dolphins @ Houston Texans

De’Von Achane Anytime Touchdown

The Miami Dolphins season has been a one of setbacks, with injuries to key players and inconsistent play from most of the team, but in recent weeks things seem to have turned a corner. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is back to full fitness, and they have won four of their last five games. Tua’s return has been a real boost for most of the offence but it’s running back De’Von Achane who has benefitted the most.

Achane is equally as adept as a runner and a receiver (his 63 catches have him second behind Alvin Kamara’s 64 among all running backs) and his connection with Tagovailoa is key to that. The former Texas A&M star has scored five times in his last four games and I expect him to keep that form going on a return to Texas.

Joe Mixon Anytime Touchdown

Much like their opponents on Sunday, the Houston Texans season has been inconsistent. A strong rookie season for QB C.J. Stroud and some shrewd offseason acquisitions had some people tipping them as an outside bet for the Super Bowl at the start of the campaign but ultimately they have flattered to deceive for much of the year.

One player who has not been inconsistent, is running back Joe Mixon. One of the highly touted offseason signings, Mixon’s only problem has been an injury that kept him out of a few games early on in his Texans career. When he’s healthy, he’s been a touchdown machine. With 12 touchdowns in 10 appearances this term, Mixon has been exceptional, and is eyeing a career high TD total, look for him to add to that tally on Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers

Rico Dowdle Over 86.5 Rushing Yards

The Carolina Panthers have been a bit of a surprise package in recent weeks, Bryce Young has shown flashes of why Carolina made him the first overall pick in last year’s draft, and despite losing to the Chiefs, Buccaneers and Eagles in the last three weeks – they can be pretty happy with how they’ve played. Unfortunately, the thing that has let Young and the Panthers offence down all year could be their undoing again this week – their terrible run defence.

Carolina have the worst defence against the run in the NFL and that will be music to the Dallas Cowboys’ ears. Rico Dowdle is one of the league’s most in-form runners and, thanks to inconsistent QB play, is also one of the most heavily relied on too. Averaging 20 carries and 109 yards a week in the last three games, Dowdle will expect to top his 86 rushing yards line, against a Panthers side who have allowed five yards a carry and 19 touchdowns to running backs this year.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Tennessee Titans

Ja’Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown & Over 89.5 Receiving Yards

Everyone associated with the Cincinnati Bengals must be wondering what on earth is happening this year. They sit 5-8, despite having legitimate candidates for MVP (QB Joe Burrow) and Offensive Player of the Year (WR Ja’Marr Chase) on offence, and a defence that is slightly above the league average in several key categories. Ultimately too many close losses have cost them, but they are heavy favourites to win on Sunday.

Chase, in particular, has been outstanding – leading the NFL in catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. His almost telepathic connection with Burrow makes the duo amongst the most entertaining players to watch and I’d expect them to link up early and often against a poor Tennessee Titans team. Look for Chase to score a 16th touchdown and easily cover his 89.5 receiving yards line.
