Seattle Seahawks @ Cincinnati Bengals

Ja’Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown

Two weeks ago, after a loss to the Tennessee Titans, a frustrated Ja’Marr Chase told a reporter – “I’m open, I’m always f**king open.” Last week against the Arizona Cardinals he more than backed up that claim, catching 15 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

Facing a Seattle Seahawks team who have allowed four different receivers to tally more than 100 yards in a game I imagine Chase is looking forward to posting a similar stat-line. Seattle have a solid defence but seem to have adopted a style of defence that allows opponents to pick up yardage before trying to hold them to field goals when they get close. With a 2-2 record there are certainly questions over whether that style is sustainable but whatever happens this week I’d be surprised if Chase doesn’t score again in Cincinnati.

Total Points: Over 44.5

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been dealing with a calf injury for much of the early part of the season but last week he looked to be nearing full fitness and the Cincinnati offence hit new heights thanks to that. Burrow hit season highs for completions, yardage and, thanks to his connection with Chase, touchdown passes.

All signs point to another strong performance from Burrow this week, which against a rested Seahawks side will be vital. Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf are a formidable wide receiver duo in a Seattle offence who are averaging just under 28 points a game so far this season. I’m backing Over 44.5 points in Cincinnati this week.

Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears

DJ Moore Over 60.5 Receiving Yards

The NFC North matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears was looking set to be a matchup between two of the most in-form wider receivers in the NFL, Chicago’s DJ Moore and Justin Jefferson of the Vikings. Unfortunately, Jefferson is heading to Injured Reserve for the next few weeks with a hamstring injury but in the form of DJ Moore there is certainly still a star on show.

In a poor Bears side Moore has been the shining light, scoring five times in the last three weeks and becoming the only reliable source for quarterback Justin Fields. Chicago’s defence has been terrible this season and, even without Jefferson, the Vikings are favourites to win on Sunday. If the Bears are chasing the game Moore will be the main man, so 60.5 receiving yards is too low a line for a man averaging 180 in the last two weeks.

San Francisco 49ers @ Cleveland Browns

Handicap: San Francisco 49ers -9.5 Points

Five weeks into the NFL season there are only two undefeated teams, both contenders in last season’s NFC Championship game – the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers. While the Eagles have had to rely on a couple of close games the 49ers have been a juggernaut, dismantling all before them. Quarterback Brock Purdy has picked up where he left off last season, leading his side to wins by 18 or more points four times.

The only game that has been any closer than that was a 30-23 win over the LA Rams where San Francisco were only behind for just over a minute. The Miami Dolphins are the biggest favourites this weekend, getting 13.5 points on the handicap against the Carolina Panthers, but the Niners should really be around that mark too, and should comfortably cover the 9.5 point handicap.

Christian McCaffrey Anytime Touchdown

A big part of the 49ers success so far this season has been the outstanding form of Christian McCaffrey. The 27-year-old has scored eight touchdowns already this season and has claimed at least one TD (18 in total) in his last 14 games for the Niners.

McCaffrey is one of the most multitalented players in the league, his only real downfall has been struggling with injuries throughout his career. Now, playing for a team with a significant number of offensive weapons, he is more consistent and I’d expect him to keep up his touchdown scoring run in Cleveland.
