It feels like only yesterday that the NFL season started but here we are, in Week Five already. I’ve studied the late slate of games this Sunday to find us the perfect Multi-Game Bet Builder to get stuck into those games. We have a great slate with four games including Sky’s televised game, Eagles at Rams. So grab a seat on your couch and get stuck into NFL Red Zone.
9:05pm: Bengals @ Cardinals
Joe Burrow Under 1.5 Passing TDs
Let’s put aside everything we know about Joe Burrow since he entered the NFL and focus on the past four weeks. Joe Burrow has been flat out bad. This is the NFL’s highest paid player and his team have less offensive touchdowns than anyone in the league and his passer rating is lower than Zach Wilson and Desmond Ridder.
He’s still so clearly struggling with the injury that he picked up in preseason and to my mind it’s crazy that the Bengals rushed him back rather than let him, and their new expensive investment, rest and heal up properly.
This is a guy who we know is brilliant, but in half injured and fairly immobile form, he’s only thrown two touchdown passes all year. While I expect him to get healthier gradually, I’m smashing the Under on 1.5 passing touchdowns in this game against a Cardinals defense that have fared better against teams than many expected.
9:05pm: Eagles @ Rams
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Action
Puka Nacua Under 5.5 Receptions
Puka Nacua has been the story of the season so far with 39 receptions through four games and smashing records left, right and centre. However, Cooper Kupp has been designated to return from IR and Sean McVay has said that he’ll play this Sunday.
Nacua is good but I’m not yet ready to say he’s better than Kupp and I’m fully expecting the Rams and Matthew Stafford to focus on Kupp. Nacua will still get looks but it’s likely we see him trend downward with Kupp back on the scene so we’ll take the Under on 5.5 receptions.
Matthew Stafford Over 269.5 Passing Yards
Stafford’s passing yard line sits at 269.5, a number he’s smashed in three of four games, with the only Under being by half a point. He’s totaled 1,229 passing yards through four games and now welcomes back his old friend Cooper Kupp to the team. Kupp and Nacua already sounds like a nightmare for opposition defenses, so I’m staggered to see the line at just 269.5.
This Eagles defense still has some great pieces but they simply aren’t playing at the level we saw last season and have averaged 279 passing yards against per game. Now they have a gunslinger in Stafford, two great wideouts and a coach who looks to pass. Take the Over.
This Chiefs at Vikings matchup looks set to be a potential shootout. The best bet here has to be for Chiefs rookie WR to have Over 2.5 receptions. It’s a line that he’s covered in three of four games but it’s clear that the team and, more importantly, Patrick Mahomes trust him.
In the first two games of the season he had targeted seven times, in the two since he’s been targeted 12 times. There’s been a clear rise in his usage and despite not running many routes he’s been targeted on 32% of them, a number only beaten in the NFL by two players, Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams.
9:25pm: Jets @ Broncos
Breece Hall Over 60.5 Rushing Yards
Don’t forget that just two weeks ago the Dolphins had 350 rushing yards against the Broncos. This is a team with the worst defense against the run in the entire NFL. Through four games they’ve allowed an average of 176 yards per game on the ground. They have been decimated by team after team and now face Breece Hall and the Jets.
We’ve already heard this week that the Jets are no longer going to have Hall on pitch count, so he’s finally going to see the workhorse role that his ability deserves. Not only that but the team will want to keep the ball out of Zach Wilson’s hands as much as possible. With a rushing yards line of 60.5 I expect we’ll see Hall smash it, and I wouldn’t even be shocked if he got near doubling it.
Breece Hall Anytime Touchdown
For much the same reasons as above, this game is going to be one that Breece Hall explodes into. He’s off a pitch count and will be hungry to find the endzone having not had a touchdown yet this season.
In four games the Broncos have allowed 11 touchdowns to running backs and they now face a hugely talented, sophomore RB, on a team who will prioritise the run game. Back Hall to find the endzone, because I think he’s going to do it at least once.
