The battle for the AFC North continues on Monday night when DeShaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns take on the Kenny Pickett-led Pittsburgh Steelers.
Both sides have had differing openings to their season. The Browns overcame the Cincinnati Bengals fairly comfortably while the Steelers lost out to the juggernaut that is the San Francisco 49ers.
Will the Browns go 2-0 for the first time in 30 years or will the Steelers bounce back? One thing is for sure, this matchup will have a very big say in how the AFC North race ultimately plays out.
Steelers to Win
Going off last week’s performances alone one would expect this to be a non-contest and an easy victory for Cleveland. However history is not on their side. The Browns haven’t won in Pittsburgh in the regular season since 2004.
Even though the Steelers are the underdogs, I’m expecting history to repeat itself. This is a get-right game for Mike Tomlin and there’s no coach better suited for this situation. Pittsburgh has won 74% of its home games following a loss (going 34-12) under Tomlin.
It should be a very close affair but with history and home field advantage on their side I like the Steelers to get the job done.
Najee Harris Anytime Touchdown
I’m expecting this game to be a run-heavy affair on both sides. Harris is the Steelers go-to man when they need a score. The Alabama native got into the end zone ten times over the last two seasons and shoulders much of the Steelers’ workload.
If Pittsburgh do get into the Redzone expect the ball to be in Najees hands. Take him for Anytime Touchdown Scorer.
Like Harris, Chubb is the main man for Cleveland. With 13 touchdowns last year, he’s one of the most prolific scorers in the league. In his matchups with Pittsburgh last season, Chubb scored on both occasions.
He had a fine display against the Bengals last week running for over 100 yards but didn’t find the end zone. He will be keen to get off the mark this week.
Jaylen Warren Over 29.5 Rushing Yards
As mentioned this game will be a run-fest. Both teams will be looking to establish their dominance on the ground. I’d expect Warren to get fully involved in the offense this week working in tandem with Harris.
The line of Over 29.5 appeals here as just one run could settle the bet. He hit that total in three of his last four games last season.
DeShaun Watson Over 24.5 Rushing Yards
Watson is a very capable runner of the football rushing for over 4000 yards so far in his career. It’s one of the many arsenals to his game. He had a very solid outing with his feet last week as he ran for 45 yards and scored.
The Steelers’ rush will force DeShaun to move out of the pocket and use his feet once more this week. His line of Over 24.5 yards looks very appealing.
