Jacksonville Jaguars @ Kansas City Chiefs
Jacksonville (+8.5)
I genuinely find this line quite disrespectful.
Yes, the Jaguars coughed up a 27-point lead in the first half to the Chargers and clearly Brandon Staley’s plan to create disguises pre-snap had Lawrence puzzled.
But there was a switchup midway through that game that showed Pederson can make adjustments better than most.
Steve Spagnuolo has one of the easiest jobs in the NFL, and his defensive scheme takes countless liberties. They’re entirely predictable pre-snap and send pressure at a very high rate.
This will make it easier for Lawrence to move the ball on early downs and ensure the game never gets out of hand.
Travis Kelce to Score Anytime
The one area of severe concern that really can’t be aided is how Jacksonville defend tight ends.
Gerald Everett who is probably the league average when it comes to productivity at the position toasted them in the first half for over 100 yards – the second time in his career reaching that figure.
Okonkwo scored a touchdown the week before and led Tennessee in yardage. And Kelce himself notched 80 yards and a touchdown back in November.
New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
New York Giants (+7.5)
Brian Daboll asks his defensive coordinator to take out a primary weapon and he then gambles on them keeping pace due to his nuance.
And I for one believe in him.
It’s so hard to create a winning culture in a team when you’ve got a star-studded roster. It’s almost impossible to do it when you’re as devoid of talent at the Giants are.
And yet here he is – overachieving week after week. Big minds over big names.
Miles Sanders to Score Anytime
I wouldn’t run the ball at Dexter Lawrence but this is their identity and they’ll persist, particularly after the success they had with Sanders in their first meeting.
He went for 144 yards and two touchdowns when he had Hurts as a threat in the run game and I’d expect similar here.
The key to running on New York is by adding different layers to their approach, so big guys have to move more.
Sirianni knows this.
