San Francisco 49ers @ Las Vegas Raiders – Raiders Under 15.5 Points
This is a bet on the Raiders’ offence crumbling after the switch from long-term starter Derek Carr to former Patriots back-up Jarrett Stidham.
Veteran Carr has not had a good season. Injuries to his supporting cast have not helped but a missed deep shot to wide-open Hunter Renfrow on the final play of last week’s loss to the Steelers summed up the kind of year he’s had.

It also may be his final play as a Raider. The Las Vegas club would be on the hook for north of $35m dollars next season were Carr to get injured in the final two games of this season, but can get out of his contract much more cheaply if he remains healthy.
That’s the only reason he won’t start here and is a sign to everyone in black and silver this Sunday that the organisation has given up on these final games.
They’re facing about as tough a defence as there is in the league. The Niners rank #1 overall by defensive DVOA by a clear margin, and are especially stingy against the run game, which is what the Raiders have done well this year on offence.
It all points to a miserable outing for the home side here and I’ll take the under on Raiders scoring more than 17.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: 49ers Defence
It’s worth taking a shot at the San Fran defence getting on the scoreboard here given the fragility of the Raiders’ offence.
They’ve scored three this season so far, and facing a sub-par starter surrounded by a team with little-to-no motivation should be a recipe for pressure, turnovers, and a possible defensive touchdown that really juices the price of our Bet Builder.
New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks – Handicap: Jets -1.5
The Jets go to Seattle needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Week 16’s Thursday night loss to the Jaguars felt like the end of second-year QB Zach Wilson’s stay in New York and could still cost the team a long-awaited postseason appearance.
But Jacksonville are playing much better than the Seahawks now. Seattle defied the odds early in the year, but have come crashing back to earth down the stretch. Geno Smith is looking like a starter but a banged-up offence can no longer cover for a defence with significant issues.
The Jets will have Mike White back to replace the banished Wilson and his adequate play should be enough to give the Jets an incisive edge against one of the league’s weakest fronts.
The Jets can also claim to have a Super Bowl standard defence themselves, and they should show that in a spot where they desperately need a win to stay alive into Week 18. Half a field goal is not much to ask them to cover, even on the road.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Zonovan Knight
The rookie rusher’s contribution will be game-script dependent as the Jets will lean more towards Michael Carter if they fall behind, but we don’t expect New York to let this slip and Knight should get some work around the goalline if his team can control the game.
He’s only really been a feature of the offence since Week 14 and has 1 score to show for it, but the Seahawks rank among the very worst run defences in the league so Knight should have the opportunity here to get another.
