Carolina Panthers @ Seattle Seahawks – Handicap: Seahawks -4

The Seahawks picked up a big Divisional win against a pluckier-than-expected Rams team to collect their first win in three and stay over .500 in their unlikely pursuit of an NFC playoff spot.

Geno Smith had a career day in terms of passing yardage, notching 367 in total and three touchdowns to continue his unexpected resurrection as a quality starter in the league.

Kenneth Walker’s injury in that game is lingering and he may not play, but the Panthers’ offence, now led by Sam Darnold after Baker Mayfield was released this week, will struggle to keep up with their counterparts from Seattle.

They’re averaging 291 yards per game on the road and are 0-5 on their travels, so asking the Seahawks to cover four points looks reasonable.

Anytime Touchdown: Seattle Defence

This has to be worth a play against Darnold, who was functional in victory against the mediocre Broncos two weeks ago, but who will be more intensely tested by the crowd at Seattle’s raucous stadium.

The Seahawks have the second most turnovers in the league this season and rookie defensive back Tariq Woolen leads the league in interceptions.

They should get a couple of opportunities to run back a score this week and a price around 7/1 is very appealing on its own too.

Miami Dolphins @ LA Chargers – Handicap: Dolphins -3.5

The Dolphins continue their westward swing by making the trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles having taken a pounding in the Bay Area last weekend.

As predicted here, the Dolphins’ streak of heavy wins proved flimsy once they faced a real Super Bowl contender. Despite finding the endzone on the very first play of the game. Miami could muster just 10 points deep into the third quarter as they lost 33-17.

However, we saw what they could do against weaker teams already this season, scoring over 30 points in four straight games against the Lions, Bears, Browns and Texans. While the Chargers probably should be better than they’ve shown recently, they are certainly playing nowhere near the level the 49ers, exemplified by a hugely underwhelming defeat to the Raiders last week.

Miami will expect to get back to winning ways this week against the Chargers, and 3.5 points doesn’t look too big an ask to cover.

Anytime Touchdown: Jeff Wilson

The Chargers’ run defence ranks among the worst in the league so Miami’s running backs should get back on track after disappointing outings against the Texans and Niners in the last two weeks.

While Raheem Mostert led the team in snaps last week, the game script against San Fran impacted Jeff Wilson’s usage versus his old team.

In LA, Miami would expect to get ahead and stay ahead. Wilson was brought in midseason for coach Mike McDaniel to be used and had been the preferred option up to last week.

This is a great chance for him to get in the endzone for the sixth time this season.
