Tampa Bay to Win
Ultimately the team with the better rushing and passing attacks should win this game, especially as New Orleans are in the middle of a quarterback identity crisis. The offences they run with Andy Dalton and Jameis Winston are slightly different and that puts everything off balance. And if they have to change mid-game like what’s being touted in the press then it’s going to create a really disjointed, low-scoring spectacle.
The Saints pride themselves on mismatches. Michael Thomas wins on slants, Alvin Kamara wins on angle routes. Neither of those two outlets appear available to them anymore, so you’re asking Chris Olave to win despite being a rookie and a string of tight ends that are about as consistent as the plot arc in a South American soap opera.
Taysom Hill to Score Anytime
Of course, it’s not just a two-QB conversation in New Orleans. Taysom Hill remains the weirdest of the weapons any team has in football, so he’s always worthy of having a punt to score.
Oftentimes the Saints go to the wildcat in the red zone – which is a direct snap to a stand-in QB. Given how limited they’re going to be in the passing game here, we’d not be surprised to see the Hill get on the scoresheet against a team who are familiar with their blueprint.
Tom Brady – Under 271.5 Passing Yards
In games like this, the Bucs generally run riot. And now that they’ve the healthy duo of Leonard Fournette and Rachaad White for the first time in a long time, it’s going to be a hot-hand situation where they can rotate the carries.
They’re different enough to ensure it doesn’t stagnate but similarly-talented enough that you don’t have to respect the substitutions.
Mike Evans – Over 60.5 Receiving Yards
Chris Godwin is projected to have more passing yards than Evans and I simply don’t believe that. His depth of route run now is so limited that he’s essentially a third-down target and no more.
Evans is the deep ball, the one-v-one mismatch and the redzone target. He’ll get volume.
