Minnesota Vikings +1.5
The Vikings come in off a high point with their stunning rollercoaster win in Buffalo last Sunday having provided one of the games of the season.
It’s tempting to see this game as a possible emotional comedown against Dallas Cowboys this week back at home but Minnesota’s team is digging out games their predecessors didn’t.
They’re 9-1 on the season and have won seven straight, all of those one score games. That’s tough to do in a league that tries to maintain parity.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
The Cowboys threw away a 14-point fourth quarter lead – the first time in 196 instances where they’ve led by two TDs with 15 minutes remaining and not taken the W.
It dropped them to 6-3 when they looked to have he game won against a struggling Packers team. Their offence has looked good since Dak Prescott came back, so you can almost understand why they are favoured on the road here, but this looks like Dallas’ name bucking the numbers given the Vikings string of wins.
You have to take Minnesota with the points this week,
Anytime touchdown: Dalvin Cook
While Prescott was out injured, the defence for Dallas came up big for the Cowboys, but it has allowed over 300 yards over the last two weeks, against the run and that could be a problem on Sunday evening.
Dalvin Cook is among the very best backs in the league. He has seven scores on the season, I wouldn’t rule him out as a First TD scorer if you really want to jazz up your multi-game bet builder this week, but Anytime will do for our purposes.
Pittsburgh Steelers +3.5
The Steelers are not a great team this year, but they are a tough team, as demonstrated by their 20-10 win over the Saints last week, which just about keeps alive hopes that Mike Tomlin can keep his record of never finishing a season under .500.
They’re rolling out rookie Kenny Pickett at quarterback still despite his struggles but their real strength is on defence.
And that unit is much better when TJ Watt plays. He’s returned from a pectoral injury and should terrify Cincinnati QB Joe Burrow on Sunday night.
The Bengals’ offensive line was supposed to have improved this year but sacks have kept accumulating and Ja’marr Chase’s continuing absence won’t make it any easier.
Denver Broncos -2.5
It’s difficult to trust a team coached by Nathanial Hackett but the Raiders have looked that bad we’ll spot them anything less than a field goal at home.
Again, their defence has really been the outstanding unit this season as Russell Wilson and his new head coach failed to mesh following his trade from Seattle.
If the Broncos offence could’ve scored just 20 points this season in each of their games this season, they could be 8-1 because their D has limited opponents so well.
Instead they’re 3-6, but should pick up another win this week as the Riders somehow contrived to lose to a Colts team on the brink of imploding after the firing of their head coach and Jeff Saturday, who’d never called a play at College or pro level, taking over.
Las Vegas gambled big in the offseason on Davante Adams and it looks like they’ve lost as the offence is banged up and not working. The Broncos should cover here.
