There are many, many reasons why the NFL is the best league in the world.

The first one is due to gamification. And no, not that poxy Premier League fantasy game whereby every single one of your mates has the same players.

The term I’m referring to is the branding of the league in such a way that the small details matter. We wait all week for an injury report to see if our starting fantasy football wide receiver is healthy. Then we listen closely to coaches speak about them and their potential roles.

And then we have insiders telling us every other little detail that we formulate in our heads. Essentially, we live the game ten times over in our heads before it actually transpires.

And to spare you the list of 482 other reasons, I’ll just jump to the last one –

Every single bloody game matters in this league.

MNF is a gorgeous example of the same. It’s Sunday morning and I’m currently sat here looking to a matchup containing Cooper Rush and Daniel Jones and checking their pass charts.

For those who don’t know what that is, I’d say it’s probably like comparing which post Marcus Tavernier and Pascal Gross most often aim for from their corners.

And my God, my efforts will hopefully make us a bit better off come Tuesday morning.

Giants to Win

Giants coach Brian Daboll knows that, despite their quarterback’s limitations, there’s a real path to victory here for the Cowboys.

He knows this because he himself has to deal with the same issues at the position.

Though not to the same extent of Dallas’ Cooper Rush.

And for those ready to cite his display last week to prove he can win, I’d merely ask you to check how many NFL teams are interested in seeking his services.

It doesn’t happen.

When it comes down moneylines, I always focus more on the game management side of things, especially when the handicap is a scratch.

On one hand, you have Mike McCarthy who’s like your obese uncle who’s got an incredibly attractive wife and nobody knows how, and on the other, you’ve got Brian Daboll, who’s a highly successful football coach with high-IQ.

Sorry, I ran out of road with that metaphor.

Under 39.5 Points

The biggest issue you’ll find here is that this scoreline probably indicates four touchdowns and I just don’t see it, given both of these will favour a trenches-type approach first.

Zeke, Pollard and Barkley will all get touches to protect their quarterback and run the clock in the process – resulting in a lack of time for big plays and clock conservation.

If you’re planning on staying up for this one, I suspect it’ll be over earlier than your standard feature.

Sterling Shepard – Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Daboll specialises in one thing very well – it’s dictating defensive formations and getting mismatches. Sterling Shepard is the only reliable receiver on the entire Giants roster – and also the most consistent yet underrated performer in the NFL.

On the few occasions where NYG get into the redzone, you should fully expect Daboll to move Shepard around the formation to get him matched up with a fringe corner, and away from Trevon Diggs.

When you don’t trust your quarterback, you at least get him to throw to your most trusted receiver.

Ezekiel Elliott – Under 58.5 Rushing Yards

Now, not only are New York going to fully expect the approach that has the ball in Cooper Rush’s hands least often, Dallas are also on the way to splitting carries between he and Tony Pollard quite evenly, with the only reason Elliott keeping the lion’s share of carries being down to the size of the contract the Cowboys issued him in the first place.

Zeke might get shy of twelve carries here, meaning he’d need nearly five yards per carry to hit the over. Not for me.
