The hype is building for Super Bowl LVI here at Paddy Power as the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams prepare to do battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

It’s not the only gong on offer as the MVP award is also up for grabs! The American equivalent of the man of the match trophy is pretty hot property but there are a couple of pointers to consider before having a punt on Paddy’s betting market.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Four of the last five Super Bowl MVPs have been quarterbacks, with wide receiver Julian Edelman being the exception when the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams in 2019. In total, QBs have won 31 of the 56 Super Bowl MVP awards.

Another factor to note is that the winner of the Pete Rozelle Trophy almost always comes from the winning team, with 1971 being the only occasion that didn’t happen.

Right, with those useful tips and pointers in the bank, let’s take a look at the top of Paddy’s betting market for the Super Bowl LVI MVP award.

Los Angeles are fancied to win the big game so, unsurprisingly, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is the favourite to be named the MVP. It would cap off a magical first season with the franchise for Stafford, who had spent the entirety of his NFL career with the Detroit Lions before being traded last year.

Cincinnati counterpart Joe Burrow is next in the betting after leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl in just his second season in the NFL. The Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback posted decent numbers in his rookie season but has turned it up a notch this term to drastically turn the franchise’s fortunes around after winning just two games in the season before his arrival.

Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is the best of the rest having enjoyed a phenomenal season including being the receptions leader, receiving yards leader and receiving touchdowns leader. The 28-year-old recorded two touchdowns in the NFC Championship victory against the San Francisco 49ers last month.
