Sunday 18:00 – Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Football Team: Cowboys (-4.5) and CeeDee Lamb Anytime TD

This a big game in the NFC East as a Cowboys win will all but seal the division with four games left to play. It won’t be an easy task however, as they come up against one of the hotter teams in league. Washington are on a four-game winning streak with much of that success attributed to an uptick in redzone and third down conversions. They’ve also been able to control the time of possession with their ground attack in recent games.

But I think, playing that way, they’re due to see some regression this week. Dallas are starting to get healthy at the right time as well, with their big three wide-outs – Amari Cooper CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup – all back and a number of important players on the defensive line returning also.

I’ve to go with the Cowboys on the handicap because of their superior quarterback play and their ability in the skill positions to attack this suspect Washington secondary, and the Cowboys will be back in the play-offs for the first time since 2018.

Dallas now have a three-pronged attack on the outside with Lamb, Cooper and Gallup all presenting a huge threat to opposing defences. I’ll go for second-year receiver CeeDee Lamb as an anytime TD scorer this week, as he is QB Dak Prescott’s main target down the field – torching defences and averaging 14.5-yards per catch. He hasn’t scored in the last two games he’s played, but I’m looking for him to change that Sunday night.

Sunday 21:05 – New York Giants @ Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers (-9) and Austin Ekeler Anytime TD

The Giants head to La La land potentially with Jake Fromm of Neflix’s QB1 series fame due to start. New York are in a terrible spot right now, they have their three top receiving targets all banged up and a Covid outbreak on top of that in their quarterback room. The Chargers looked great across all facets of the game last week in an impressive win in Cincinnati.

The Giants defence might be able to hold Justin Herbert and the offence early, but with their offence ranking as one of the league worst even when Daniel Jones was starting, LA should get enough opportunities to put the game to bed before the 4th quarter and rest up for a mammoth AFC West clash against the Chiefs next week.

Austin Ekeler is proficient in both aspects of the offence from running-back for the Chargers. He’s notched eight touchdowns on the ground, while grabbing another seven receiving this season. He’s also the third ranked Charger in receiving yards this campaign.

With outside receiver Mike Williams on the Covid list, Ekeler could see his involvement increase this week and cap that off with another TD.

Detroit Lions @ Denver Broncos: Detroit To Win and TJ Hockenson Anytime TD

Detroit got a very impressive, and maybe even deserved, win last week against a good Minnesota team. Despite their shocking record only three of their losses have been by more than nine points. And in the last four, they are 1-2-1 with losses by just two and three points.

The Lions head coach Dan Campbell wants this team to fight like dogs and bite the kneecaps of opponents every time they’re knocked down, and it looks like they are doing that for him. The Broncos are not a great team, averaging fewer than 20 points a game, but have a defence that has been keeping them in games.

In a tale of two suspect quarterbacks, I’d rather side with Jared Goff and the Lions here. Detroit will easily cover the handicap in my opinion, but I’m going further and taking them to ride the momentum of last week and pick up another win on the Moneyline market.

TJ Hockenson is probably the form pass catcher for the Lions in the past few weeks, with two TDs in his last two games. He’s been one Goff’s top receiving options all year and if they want to get out of Denver with a victory, then the Lions will need him to continue his rich vein of scoring form.
