NFL tips: Our trader says back Dak’s Cowboys to overpower Chargers

Get your tips for Redzone Sunday from our NFL trader

Week one provided plenty of shocks, and punters will be hoping to get back on top in week two. Sky are televising three intriguing games, and our NFL trader, Daniel Whitty, has given us his best bets for those games.

San Francisco 49ers @ Philadelphia Eagles

49ers -3.5 on handicap and Elijah Mitchell anytime TD scorer

The 49ers started brilliantly last week, notching up 41 points before a botched late onside kick almost let the Lions get back into it. All the teams in the NFC West won last week and the ‘Niners will be desperate to keep the winning record going against and Eagles team that themselves got off to a winning start in Atlanta.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Jimmy Garoppolo passed for over 300 yards last week, but he will feel rookie, Trey Lance, breathing down his neck so he must keep performing. Jalen Hurts had an excellent opener last week, but this ‘Niners D is much tougher than the one he faced in Atlanta and I can see him struggling against the ‘Niners D line that will be looking to swarm him at every opportunity.

In the TD markets, I will side with San Francisco’s rookie running back Elijah Mitchell. Raheem Mostert was the starter last week, but an early injury put him out for the season and Mitchell, who was a 6th round pick, was given the reins and responded by running for over 100 yards. Mitchell has been now listed as the starter and he looks a good bet in the TD markets.

Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Chargers

Dallas to win, over 47.5 points and CeeDee Lamb anytime TD scorer

The Cowboys started superbly against Tampa Bay, with Dak Prescott back they put up over 400 yards of offense. That was very impressive from the Dallas QB as it was his first game back from injury, and I think the value could be with backing the Cowboys to win on the road and for the points total to be over 47.5.

Justin Herbert impressed in Washington, but they had a tough time against Washington’s stout D and I think the extra few days rest the Cowboys have had could be the deciding factor. Prescott has an array of weapons at his disposal, but CeeDee Lamb looks the best bet in the TD markets. Lamb soaked up 15 targets last week with 7 receptions. And if the sophomore WR improves his catch rate he should score.

Patrick Mahomes Kansas City Chiefs Denver Broncos December 6, 2020

Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens

Chiefs -3.5 on handicap line and Tyreek Hill anytime TD scorer

The late game on Sunday is a fascinating clash as the Kansas City Chiefs head into Baltimore to take on the Ravens. The Chiefs have got a terrific record against Baltimore during the Andy Reid era, he is 4-0 against them and I think he will make it 5-0 here.

Baltimore will be kicking themselves after their defeat in Las Vegas and I can see Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs inflicting more pain on the Ravens who could struggle on the back of a short week. The Chiefs overcame a 12-point deficit to beat the Browns and I can see their old firm of Mahomes, Hill and Kelce putting up enough scores to cover the -3.5 line.

In the TD markets, it’s impossible to overlook Tyreek Hill. What more can you say? Last week he feasted on the Browns secondary and he has to be backed to do the same against Baltimore.
