Worldwide, there isn’t a sporting event that sees more betting interest than the Super Bowl, and for good reason.

The thirst for more markets, pardon the pun, has led to insiders desperately seeking information like Tyreek Hill’s favourite flavour energy drink, Rob Gronkowski’s stance during the anthem and the CBS producer’s preference of The Weeknd songs.

It’s become a frenzy but one we find quite fitting for the grandiose nature of the event.

And I reckon there’s a bit of value in this year’s Super Bowl novelty markets too, you know. It might not be a mighty Bet Builder or a slip the length of your torso that you can brag about, but cash money is cash money.

Here’s a few clever positions ahead of Mahomes v Brady.

Anthem: Under 118.5 Seconds

Now admittedly it has it trended the opposite way in recent years, but it’s being performed by the duo of Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church.

Church is a country artist while Sullivan’s exploits best-described as R&B with a reggae base.

But the most notable element of both of these performers’ signature sways is that they’re up-tempo, syncopated recording artists.

This should mean that the anthem will have a speedy vibe to it; not elongating verses like a soul performer nor taking full agency over the structure like a rock band/primarily piano-based artist would do.

The smart money also lies on the attention steering away from political gestures now, so back them to be done with it in well under two minutes.

Gatorade Colour: Orange

We’re in good nick here because the Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl for the second consecutive season and while the colour of a drink may not be the central issue to anyone’s preparation, it does feel like it’s decided upon by player preference.

The Chiefs haven’t had a huge turnover from 2019 to 2020 and given it’s usually a veteran-led decision re: drinks and such, there shouldn’t be any glaring reason why the love for orange-flavoured drinks would change.

Punter Dustin Colquitt was the senior head that’s been lost from the dressing room but a lack of any big veteran acquisitions means it’s likely that their excessive ingestion of energy drink will be coloured orange once more.

Super Bowl LIV San Francisco 49ers v Kansans City Chiefs Andy Reid, February 2, 2020

Who Will Super Bowl MVP Mention First? Coaches

If Tampa Bay win the Super Bowl, Brady will be MVP and he’ll thank the city first for accepting him, especially as he’s playing in Raymond James Stadium as he wins it.

But there’s no hope of the Bucs beating the Chiefs, so it comes down to Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes or Travis Kelce – all of whom are frequently vocal about Andy Reid. Adding to this, the snub of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for a head coaching role is a hot talking point, so either/or would see us landing in the money.

It’s an outrageous price for a team who have been carried by the innovation of both their coordinators and their head coach in back to back years.
