NFL Tips: Super Bowl Sunday’s best side market bets from our traders

There's a big game in America this Sunday, hope they can fit it in around the ads

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will become the first ever team to host a Super Bowl when they host the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday in Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium. Our NFL trader, Ian Dent, has had a look at some markets ahead of the game to pinpoint some value and he has also had a look at the best novelty bets for the big game.

Anytime TD scorers – Byron Pringle 4/1 & Cameron Brate 12/5

Pringle has had a quiet season so far, but he may get his chance in the big game. With Hill and Kelce sure to attract the most attention from the Bucs’ secondary after the huge games they had in the AFC championship game, I think this will present Pringle with a great opportunity. The Chiefs have been thin at WR with Sammy Watkins banged up and Pringle has been getting more snaps. He looks the value for the Chiefs.

Cameron Brate has taken over as the number one receiving TE in Tampa Bay. Rob Gronkowski has been used mainly as a blocker throughout the playoffs yet Brate is a bigger price to score. Brate has out-caught Rob Gronkowski 11-2 this postseason. Brate scored a TD in the NFC championship game and he can do so again here.

Super Bowl MVP – Tyreek Hill 12/1, Travis Kelce 13/1 & Darrel Williams 55/1

The Quarterbacks always dominate in this market, but it can pay to look elsewhere. Tyreek Hill looks like he is going to have a huge game again. He went off in the AFC Championship game against the Bills last weekend and he also roasted the Bucs secondary in week 12 when he had 13 catches for 269 yards and three TDs. A repeat of that would put him firmly in the MVP picture.

His partner-in-crime Kelce is also worth a bet in this market. Kelce has been a TD machine all season and Mahomes has been peppering him with targets. Kelce ran riot against the Bills, scoring two TDs and his consistency makes him a good bet in this market.

The final selection is a dart throw at a big price, but Chiefs RB Darrel Williams looks poised for a big game. Williams seems to be the most trusted RB in the Chiefs backfield now and it was noticeable how much they leaned on him in the second half of the AFC championship game. The potential for TDs is there and Williams rates as the best live outsider for MVP honours at a huge price.

Super Bowl novelty bets

Will there be a 2-point conversion attempted in game? YES 11/10

Opening kick-off to be returned for touchdown 40/1

Will a PAT or FG hit the post? YES 9/2

I think that this will be a high-scoring game, so I think there will be at least one 2-point conversion attempted. The points total is high for this one and there’s every chance a team playing catch-up will attempt to go for two points instead of kicking the extra point, it’s currently 11/10 and is great value.

It might also be worth having a small play on the opening kick-off being returned for a TD. Tampa Bay and Kansas City have some excellent returners and this price has already been trimmed from 66/1 to 40/1.

Finally, the 9/2 on a PAT or FG attempt hitting a post looks generous. We’ve seen kickers struggle throughout the season and it’s worth having a nibble at this market in case any of the kickers get stage fright on the big occasion.
