Monday Night Football: Three best bets for Burnley v Newcastle

This should be a good battle alright…..well at least of the goatees

Burnley at home to Newcastle. This has ‘Monday night 4-3 classic’ written all over it doesn’t it? Ok, ok maybe not but at least it should be a decent touchline clash to see who has the best goatee between the ginger Mourinho and Rafa. Personally, there’s no competing against Dyche’s. It’s just so well manicured.

Anyway, on the off chance that this mouth-watering clash doesn’t live up to its billing, we’ve got three of the best bets to keep you slightly engaged.

We’re dishing out all the latest football odds over at PaddyPower.com

CHRIS WOOD TO SCORE ANYTIME AND BURNLEY TO WIN – 4/1

This bet probably somewhat goes against what form tells you. Not of Chris Wood, but of Burnley’s home form. The Clarets are like Jekyll and Hyde from last season. 33 points taken at home last campaign, which was only one point less than what Man United took. Turf more was a fortress back then.

This season, they’ve only managed one win in their five home games and that was against a bottom of the table Palace. On the road they’ve been impressive though, beating Chelsea, Everton and drawing with Liverpool and Tottenham. And they were unlucky against City with a contentious penalty that opened up the flood gates.

While Dyche might have one eye on the Everton job, we still think it’s time they started to turn their home form around. Wood is a doubt with injury but Dyche said it was ‘promising’ that he’d start. He’s begun life at Burnley quite well and we fancy him to bag one and Burnley to take 3 points here.

ISAAC HAYDEN TO BE FIRST PLAYER TO BE SHOWN CARD – 17/2

He’s been shown yellow four times this season and two of them have been as the opening card. We can expect a physical battle in midfield against Dyche’s men and the 22 year-old has been lucky a few times to avoid going in the book. Plus, neither side was in Carabao Cup action so they’ll be chomping at the bit to get stuck in.

We do like the anytime to get booked market for Hayden but it’s too short at 17/10 for us. So we said f*ck it, Mike Dean is in charge, let’s go all out.

RED CARD TO BE SHOWN IN THE MATCH – 7/2

Speaking of Mike Dean, he’s been keeping quite a low profile of late. What’s wrong Mike? Maybe he’s just keeping the head down after getting demoted last season, we don’t know. He’s mad for the limelight. Sooner or later he’ll steal it and we’ll be there to capitalise.

He’s been very light on the controversy and dishing out the cards this season. But we think he’ll fancy dishing a few out tomorrow. Or just do something controversial.

4 of the 14 red cards issued this season have come against Burnley. Couple that with Magic Mike being in charge and we think you’re onto a winner. We also like the penalty awarded punt at 10/3. Good luck!
