NFL tips: Lions and Washington to prove they aren’t Turkeys with this 3/1 Thanksgiving Double

Week 12 of the NFL gets underway with traditional Thanksgiving matches at Detroit and Dallas on Thursday, and Paddy Power has all the tips to see you safely through what promises to be a spectacular day of action.

Houston Texans @ Detroit Lions [5.30pm] – Lions +3

This will be close, I don’t think there will be too much in it but the Lions getting a few points at home will be enough to sway it for me. They look like they’re going to get D’Andre Swift back, and he adds an extra dimension to their offense with his passing and running games.

The Lions were so disappointing last week, scoring no points in Carolina, and I think their coach Matt Patricia’s job will be on the line down the stretch so they’re going to need to get some wins. This is traditionally a big slot for the Lions, with their Thanksgiving game at home, and I think they’ll be decent value on the handicap.

Washington Football Team @ Dallas Cowboys [9.30pm] – Washington +2.5

I’m going to go for Washington, who are +2.5. The Cowboys did look a lot better with Andy Dalton back last week but his record on primetime is really dreadful and this is one of the most-watched games of the year.

Washington gave the Cowboys a really rough time last time they met up and they knocked Dalton out of the game. This division is up for grabs in the NFC East and I can see Washington winning this match and they’re getting +2.5 on their handicap so I’ll go for that as well.
