NFL tips: Chiefs can tame the Panthers to land our 11/2 treble on Sunday

We’ve tackled all the bets for you ahead of Week 9.

The Pittsburgh Steelers remain the only undefeated team in the league following their bruising victory over their bitter AFC north rivals, the Baltimore Ravens, in week 8. The Steelers should remain unbeaten after this week as they take on the Dallas Cowboys who are in freefall.

However, punters had a torrid time last weekend as only four favourites covered the spread, and they will be looking to get back on top in what looks like an intriguing slate of games this week. The question is will the punters strike back in week 9?

Every week our NFL Trader Ian Dent brings us to give us his best bets of the weekend. Here’s what Ian is picking:

Sunday’s early window treble: Seahawks (-3), Chiefs (-10.5) & Ravens (-1.5)

I like the Seahawks going into Buffalo as the Bills have struggled in the last month or so. Josh Allen has fallen off a bit after a great start, whereas the Seattle offence continues to get better. They didn’t miss a beat with DeeJay Dallas deputising at running-back last week, while DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are two of the best receivers in the league. Russell Wilson heads the MVP betting, and they can cover the spread in a tough match-up on the road.

The Chiefs were very impressive last week with TDs for Mahomes, and while the Panthers are tougher opposition, the Chiefs should have too much for them. In the final leg I’m going for the Ravens to bounce back against the Colts. Lamar Jackson hasn’t been as good as last season, but the Ravens defense should be too strong for the Colts.

A treble on these three best bets pays at approximately 11/2

Same Game MultiDolphins @ Cardinals: Cardinals (-5.5) on alternate handicap line, Kyler Murray anytime TD scorer & Tua Tagovailoa passing yards under

Every week Ian gives us his best same game multi, this week it is in the Dolphins v Cardinals game. I like the Cardinals in the alternate handicap market at (-5.5), as the Cardinals offence is really clicking and DeAndre Hopkins has been a great acquisition. Kyler Murray is always a threat and Chase Edmonds is a capable back-up RB.

Kyler Murray has seven rushing TDs this season, there has been only one game he hasn’t scored in and he looks a great anytime TD scorer bet. On the Miami side, Tua Tagovailoa is a rookie starting his second game and he will be good in the long run, but the Dolphins seem to be giving him a limited playbook. I believe they will use a committee at RB with Jordan Howard and Matt Breida, and the Dolphins will run the ball a lot in this one. They will probably use a short passing game with Tua and I can see his passing yards going under.

A Same Game Multi on these three best bets pays at approximately 6/1

Monday DoublePatriots @ Jets: Total points under 42.5 and Damien Harris anytime and first TD scorer

Monday night football is an AFC east clash, as the Patriots head to New York to take on the hapless Jets. It’s not the most enticing Monday night game, I’m steering away from the handicap line and instead I reckon the points total will be under 42.5.

These two teams are really poor offensively. The Jets have no weapons for Sam Darnold and can’t move the football, the Patriots are wafer-thin at wide-receiver and Cam Newton is really struggling. Damien Harris is emerging as the lead back in New England, he had a great game last week and he will lead the offensive effort and he can find the endzone.
