NFL Tips: Our trader says 17/2 Lamar Jackson can lead a Ravens rout of Houston

It's Week 2 of the NFL season and last year's MVP Lamar Jackson looks better than ever - can he nab a score against the Texans on Sunday?

Week two of the NFL season threw up plenty of upsets, but our NFL trader Ian Dent was on the money as he went 4-0 with his first four handicap selections of the season.

Week two looks like it will be another tough week for punters, there are six divisional games and a host of other intriguing clashes, so we got some thoughts from Ian on three of the weekend’s biggest games.

Minnesota Vikings @ Indianapolis Colts

Sunday, 6pm, Sky Sports NFL

The early game on Sky sees the clash of two teams who lost their opener. Minnesota were blown out by the Green Bay Packers while the Colts were upset by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Handicap: Colts -3

“They both had very disappointing defeats last weekend, but I think the Colts could bounce back here,”

“I watched a lot of their game last week and they really should have won. They dominated it for long periods, but a late interception really turned it. I think the Colts -3 could bounce back in week two.”

Jonathan Taylor First TD scorer

“I like Jonathan Taylor. He’s going to be very prominent now that they have lost Marlon Mack their other running back. So, Jonathan Taylor should really dominate a lot of their touches.”

Baltimore Ravens @ Houston Texans

Sunday, 9:25pm, Sky Sports NFL

The second game on Sky sees the Baltimore Ravens take on the Houston Texans in a big AFC clash. Baltimore hammered the Cleveland Browns last week and reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson will be full of confidence as they head to Houston to take on the Texans who were no match for Kansas City in week one.

Handicap: Ravens -7

“The Texans had a tough start in week one facing Mahomes and it doesn’t get any easier here facing Lamar Jackson. The Texans kind of contained the Chiefs passing game, to some extent last week, but the Chiefs ran all over them. And I think that’s going to continue as the Ravens running attack is strong with Lamar Jackson and the running backs that they have. So, I like the Ravens to cover -7 and give the Texans a really rough start to their season.”

Lamar Jackson first TD scorer

“Lamar Jackson is a good bet for first TD. He didn’t score a rushing touchdown last week, he was relying on his arm but he’s going to run at some point. And why not here in week two against the Texans?”

New Orleans Saints @ Las Vegas Raiders

Tuesday,  1:10am, Sky Sports NFL

Monday night football comes from Sin City as the Raiders host the Saints in their new home. Here’s our trader’s view on this one:

Handicap: Raiders +5.5

“This should be a good one, first-ever game in Las Vegas, unfortunately, there will be no fans there. Impressive start from the Raiders last week on the road, especially offensively, they scored a lot of points and with the Saints missing their star man, Michael Thomas, I kind of like the Raiders getting 5.5 here on the handicap.”

Josh Jacobs first TD scorer

“It’s hard to go against Josh Jacobs in the first TD scorer market. I think they’re going to feature him heavily throughout the season. He’s a very talented running back, he had 25 carries last week and three touchdowns. I’m taking him to continue that form, Josh Jacobs first touchdown scorer for me.”

Another great NFL weekend in store, and as usual, Paddy will have the best markets and in-play prices.
