Minny miracle: Was this the greatest ever finish to an NFL game?

This one's definitely going down in the history books....

Just as they have done so many times, it looked like the Vikings were on course once again to f*ck things up and taste defeat in the Playoffs last night. It was all going swimmingly for Minnesota early doors as they coasted to a 17-0 half time lead. Well in control, all was rosy, everyone was happy.

But things went swiftly downhill from there. A torrid 17 minutes ensued where they conceded no less than 24 points. Fast forward the action and with 10 seconds left on the clock they are trailing the New Orlean Saints 24-23. It’s safe to say that at that stage not many would have held out too much hope for them. Particularly with an undrafted quarterback calling the shots.

But fu*k me, what happened next was simply sensational.

Case Keenum took the snap, after calling the play known as ‘Buffalo Right Seventh Heaven’ and found a fifth round receiver in Stefon Diggs down the right sideline with five seconds left. Diggs managed to avoid contact (helped in fairness by a rookie mistake from Saints safety, Marcus Williams), stay in touch and ran to the end zone for a 61-yard game winning score.

All hell broke loose with the celebrations and the sideline cam gives you the perfect angle to view the madness.

The Vikings now travel to Philly to take on the Eagles for the NFC title, while simultaneously attempting to become the first ever team to play in a Super Bowl held in their home stadium. Did someone say ‘Minnesota Miracle’??
