Carolina Panthers +3 v Atlanta Falcons
One of the few meaningful games in this Week 17 slate. Atlanta were their own worst enemy last week in New Orleans with two trips inside the Saints 5-yard line and came away with zero points. Things are not looking any easier for them this weekend either. Their offensive line is heavily banged up on the inside with all 3 interior positions carrying knocks – the worst of this is centre Alex Mack who missed his second straight practice and is an integral part of the offence.
Carolina also get Thomas back and looks like Shaq Thompson will play too. Atlanta chairman is calling for a big crowd in this win or go home game but the Falcons home field advantage has always been minimal at best when they are not pumping fake fan noise into the stadium.
Under 42 points – Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans @ 20/23
Jacksonville are in the most unique scenario of all teams this coming weekend. They are locked into the #3 seed and either play the Titans again in the playoffs if they lose or the Chargers if they win. It has led to a lot of talk about resting starters but Coach Marrone has not confirmed anything yet. With this, I expect a very vanilla offensive game plan for Bortles and I don’t rate this Titans unit doing much against any member of the Jags defensive unit be it a starter or backup.
