Roman Dolidze v Kevin Holland – Roman Dolidze to win

Kevin Holland was one of the rising stars that came out of the UFC COVID pandemic era, winning five fights in six months in 2020. With no crowds in the Apex, ‘Big Mouth’ could be heard talking to his opponents throughout his fights. Whether he’s winning or losing, he’s a real chatty Cathy inside the octagon.

Unfortunately for Holland, he has been losing a lot more of late. He’s lost 6 of his last 11 fights.

He’s lost to wrestlers several times, getting taken down 11 times by Vetorri, six times by Brunson, and twice by Khamzat before getting submitted in the first round. And hasn’t fared much better against striking specialists, losing convincingly to Wonderboy Thompson and Michael Venom Page.

Now Roman Dolidze is no striking or wrestling specialist, so it’s probably a good matchup for Kevin Holland. But I don’t like Holland as a big favourite, seeing as he loses so often, to put it bluntly. I think it’s a close fight. I’ll take the underdog. Roman Dolidze to win.

Ketlen Viera v Kayla Harrison – Kayla Harrison by points

Kayla Harrison might be the best fighter in the division. She’s entered the UFC with a huge pedigree as a PFL champion and two-time Judo Olympic Gold Medallist.

She passed her first UFC test with flying colours, beating previous champion Holly Holm landing 51 strikes and absorbing just two before sinking in a rear naked choke in the second round.

Ketlen Viera does have a really good takedown defence stopping 92% of her opponents’ takedown attempts. But again, she’s never come up against a Judo Olympic Gold Medallist. I can’t see Kayla Harrison having a problem getting takedowns in this fight.

Kayla Harrison is a huge favourite but there’s value in Harrison by decision. Nine of Ketlen Viera’s 11 UFC fights have gone to a decision. The judges have decided all of her last six fights. I could see her losing each round but getting to the final bell.

Alex Pereira v Khalil Rountree – Alex Pereira to win and round 2 to start

Currently, Pereira is 1/5 to win and 1/3 to win by KO/TKO. Does Poatan really deserve such a short price? Okay, you’re right; maybe he does. I’m not picking against him, that’s for sure. But I have found major value for us in the WhatOddsPaddy markets. It’s ‘Alex Pereira to win and Round 2 to start,’ which is 4/5 at the time of writing.

Yes, this is a Light Heavyweight fight where knockouts are commonplace, and Poatan is something of a knockout artist with six KOs in nine fights in the UFC, but is he actually likely to knock Khalil Rountree out in the first round? Okay, again, you’re right; he probably is, but I’m happy to sweat for the first five minutes.

Pereira only has 2 first round KO’s in the UFC. I’m going with WhatOddsPaddy – Up to 9/2: Alex Pereira to win & Round 2 to start.
