Dan Hooker v Michael Chandler

This looks an intriguing encounter. Michael Chandler is finally making his long awaited UFC debut tonight. Dan Hooker is a very good fighter, though. He’s coming off the back of a decent loss to Dustin Poirier which he very nearly got the finish at the end of the second round.

Chandler is tough though but has been finished before. He’s mostly known for his two wars with Eddie Alvarez. Looking at the sizes here and I think this will play an advantage. Hooker stands at 6ft while Chandler is 5ft 6. Think this will go the distance and Hooker will grind out a Win by Points Decision.

Conor McGregor v Dustin Poirier

This is a thrilling fight. The biggest star in the sport, Conor McGregor, is back. These two already fought back in 2014 and McGregor made quick work of Dustin Poirier finishing him inside two minutes.

I think the fight will last longer this time around but the result will be the same with McGregor winning by KO/TKO. In the last few days McGregor looks more focused than before and kind of like the old Conor. He was first on scales today and made championship weight of 155 while everyone else was 156.

I think he was sending out an early signal. Their first fight was at 145 and this fight is now 155. McGregor is 1-1 at 155. He beat Alvarez for the title and lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Poirier, since the McGregor fight, has only lost twice. Once to Michael Johnson which was viewed as a big shock and then to Khabib in September of 2019. There’s no harm in losing to Khabib.

Looking at this fight, the betting suggests that McGregor early stoppage is the bet. In all of McGregor’s wins he has stopped all his opponents in first or second apart from Nate Diaz and Max Holloway.

I see no difference here. Poirier as shown in the past he is prone to getting hit. There’s no better stand-up fighter than McGregor at 155. It doesn’t bode well for Poirier. I think he will survive the first round but McGregor will put him away early in the second. With the price on offer for McGregor to win in Round 2, I like that bet a lot.

Fight Night Double

If I was to put up a double it would be Hooker and McGregor Both To Win and both of those selections in a double will give you odds of around 1.3/1 with Paddy Power.
