Tuesday night saw the UFC host a pre-fight media conference call with UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier. The American is all set to face undefeated Russian lightweight world champion Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov at UFC 242 on September 7 in Abu Dhabi, and was all set to speak to the media.
The only problem was, the media initially weren’t able to speak to him because they’d been given the wrong number.
Now, that in itself isn’t really that newsworthy, but who the media members ended up dialling certainly was.
The errant number circulated was for a PHONE SEX LINE. Yes. Really.
They just sent an update. 2 of the numbers were reversed.

So, in attempting to get on the Khabib/Poirier call, the number UFC sent out was…… a phone sex line. They've since corrected it

It appears the original message jumbled up a couple of the digits meaning the number dialled by media members went not to the pre-arranged UFC conference call, but an erotic phone line.
As soon as the mistake was spotted, UFC officials sent an email with the updated number, which then connected the media to the conference call.
The fight itself is beginning to pick up some steam with just over a week away to fight night. Nurmagomedov has stayed away from the limelight as he has completed his preparations for the contest, while Poirier has been working tirelessly in his bid to become the first man to defeat “The Eagle” and become the undisputed UFC lightweight champion.
Most casual fans are giving Poirier little chance, but the American Top Team product has the sort of mentality and skillset that could, if he’s at the top of his game, give the Russian star some serious problems on fight night.
His takedown defence is sound, his cardio is excellent and he hits hard. If he keeps the fight standing, or if he can catch Khabib early, things could get very interesting in the desert next weekend.
