Watch: Junior Dos Santos belts out Prince ahead of UFC Minneapolis clash

Sounds like he’s had a few too many fists to the voice box!

How can you not love Junior Dos Santos?

The Brazilian former UFC heavyweight champion isn’t just a brilliant knockout artist, with a chin like granite, he’s also one of the genuinely nicest sportsmen you could ever wish to meet.

He once told me that he learned English by watching Family Guy and The Simpsons, and by listening to the easy listening strains of Frank Sinatra. And he’s a man who clearly loves his music.

Dos Santos, who once interrupted his post-fight interview to sing happy birthday to his son, clearly has a heart of gold – and boy, he LOVES to sing!

PaddyPower.com’s odds are a knockout

The American Top Team (ATT) trained heavyweight once riffed on AC-DC’s Dynamite during a pre-fight media scrum to give us all a memorable moment that was shared worldwide on social media.

And the always-smiling Brazilian did it again this week ahead of his UFC Minneapolis clash with Francis Ngannou.

Despite the prospect of facing arguably the most terrifying heavyweight in the MMA world, Dos Santos was just as happy and cheery as ever as he chatted to reporters ahead of his fight.

When he revealed he had been listening to Prince on the flight over. He needed very little persuasion to burst into song once again as he treated us to a brief rendition of the classic “Purple Rain”.

Usually this sort of awesomeness would be enough to have us siding with JDS on fight night, but as much as we’d all love nothing more than to see Dos Santos belting out “Raspberry Beret” or “Little Red Corvette” after claiming victory on Saturday night, I have a feeling his opposite number may be about to cut the music.

FIGHT NIGHT ODDS
