It was hard to know where to look in Las Vegas last night as UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov downed Conor McGregor at the T-Mobile Arena.
Nurgmagomedov’s ‘tap out’ of McGregor in 3:03 mins of round four should have been the culmination of months of blood, sweat and jeers.
But the Russian decided to get his retaliation in first ahead of any potential re-match by attacking the Notorious’ corner outside the Octagon – as Nurgmagomedov’s crew attacked Conor inside it.
There may be a sting in the tail for Khabib though as UFC organisers were reportedly withholding the winner’s cheque from the Eagle until an investigation has taken place.
