We love a bit of MMA here at PP News and last night’s UFC Fight Night in Fresno, California delivered us an early Christmas gift with a spectacular knee knockout and a submission masterclass.
It was Marlon Moraes grabbing this morning’s headlines though, after hitting a Knockout of the Year contender on Aljamain Sterling inside the first round.
Just 67 seconds into the bout Moraes timed a takedown attempt from Sterling perfectly and unloaded a vicious knee strike to leave his opponent out cold on the canvas. Thanks to BT Sport you can check out the blow for yourself below:

Don’t worry, Sterling is fine and congratulated Moraes on his win on Twitter this morning to put those worrying about his health at ease.
Hats off to Marlon. Thought I timed the TD perfectly and he was able to land a nasty knee. Sucks to be the nail, but this is the fight game. I'm ok for all those asking ??

Elsewhere, Brian Ortega bested veteran Cub Swanson in their featherweight main event by pulling off a brilliant readjustment to set in a choke, netting a huge second round victory by tap out. See it for yourself below:
