Watch: Bisping gets choked out by GSP as three new champs are crowned at UFC 217

The Garbrandt v Dillashaw grudge match came to a head and there was a huge shock in the Women's Strawweight title fight…

After a four-year hiatus from the octagon, you really couldn’t have written a more fairy tale return to the UFC for Georges St Pierre than last night.

Having spent most of his career – before his break – dominating the Welterweight division, GSP stepped up to Middleweight to face champion Michael Bisping for his title and it looked like he hadn’t missed a beat.

Even though there was some back-and-forth between the two (including some brilliant work on his back from Bisping), you’d have to say St-Pierre enjoyed the better of the fight and knocked the Mancunian down with a beautiful left hand shot with just over a minute remaining in the third round.

The Canadian icon followed that up with a flurry of punches and eventually took Bisping’s back. The champion fought bravely and refused to tap out, but couldn’t prevent himself from being choked out.

St Pierre now joins an exclusive club of two-weight UFC champions along with Randy Couture, BJ Penn and Conor McGregor. Watch him win the title for yourself below thanks to BT Sport UFC on Twitter:

Also on the card was the explosive grudge match between former teammates Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw for the Bantamweight championship and it didn’t disappoint.

It all looked to be going one way as Garbrandt owned the opening round, knocking Dillashaw down with a huge punch at its conclusion. However, the challenger had other ideas and regained his senses in the second period to end it with a flurry of punches.

Something tells us, we’ll be seeing this one again very soon. Check out the stoppage below:

Finally, there was a massive turn up for the books in the Women’s Strawweight title match-up as Rose Namajunas stunned champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk to claim the belt.

Jędrzejczyk was seemingly unbeatable beforehand, coming into the fight with a 14-0 record and five successful title defences to her name. Not of that mattered to Namajunas, and she wasted no time knocking out the Pole with some brilliant boxing inside the first round:
