Paddy Power have slashed the odds on a potential trilogy fight between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz amid reports and a rush of bets.
We had offered odds of 4/1 on Diaz being the Dubliner’s next opponent before the weekend, now make it 1/10 for the Lightweights to face off for a third time.
McGregor, who avenged his defeat to Diaz last August, is the 4/11 favourite for the third bout with the Californian available at 17/10 to make it 2-1 in his favour.
Former 145 kingpin José Aldo is considered the Irishman’s next most likely opponent at 16/1, while Khabib Nurmagomedov is 20/1 along with UFC Welterweight champ Tyron Woodley.
Should the UFC superstar fancy return to the boxing ring it’s Paulie Malignaggi who iss considered his most likely opponent at 50/1, while a second contest with Mayweather is available at 80/1.
Asked about The Notorious One’s next move Féilim Mac An Iomaire, a spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: “Given his star power Conor McGregor could fight a garden gnome in a phone box and people would still tune in!
“However, his rivalry with Diaz is one of the most captivating in sport and a third, decisive bout between the two could make it the best trilogy since the Godfather.”
