Watch: ‘That elbow would’ve killed God!’ An Englishman stole the show at last night’s UFC Fight Night 115

The stock of politics lover, Darren Till, rose sharply last night after a devastating performance.....

I think we may just have found a UFC fighter who believes in himself as much as Conor McGregor. And can also back it up with the talent and showmanship.

MMA fans in the UK and Ireland should be well accustomed to the name of Darren Till. The Liverpudlian made headlines on the undercard of McGregor’s first UFC bout in Dublin in 2015, receiving a $50,000 bonus for fight of the night against Nicholas Dalby. And last night, at UFC 115 in Rotterdam, his stock rose even further.

Till put on a devastating display of skill, aggression and showmanship to take a unanimous decision over Serbian, Bojan Velickovic. A points decision may seem ‘meh’ to some but it was the manner in which the 24 year-old did it that was so impressive.

Not only does he possess the skills and talent but he has the story to go with it. Till was an up-and-coming fighter aged 19 when he was stabbed in the back twice in a nightclub.

He then made the tough decision to leave Liverpool and move to Brazil to focus on becoming a more well equipped fighter and avoid landing himself in further trouble back home. The move was initially planned to only be for 6 months but the welterweight ended up staying for four years.

Now, after moving back to Liverpool, he boasts an unbeaten professional record and is quickly becoming hot property in the UFC. Last night he boldly declared himself the ‘greatest fighter on planet earth’.

Check out some clips from his performance last night and listen to his post fight interview where he talks about the ‘elbow that would’ve killed God’ and his love of politics.

UFC Rotterdam was a cracking event so we couldn’t also not acknowledge this bone shattering one punch knockout by Mairbek Taisumov over Felipe Silva.
