Since Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor *finally* decided to announce their monumental fight, our punters have been going mad. And it’s the Irishman they’re backing.
So far, the Dubliner has netted 91.9% of all bets placed on the box office clash, with Money Mayweather only accounting for 8.1% of all wagers, despite being the overwhelming favourite.
In fact, McGregor has attracted much more money on the whole than his opponent, with the bets placed on him accounting for a huge 63.2% of all cash wagered on the fight.
The one-sided nature of the betting has seen the odds fall faster than José Aldo with the outsider’s initial odds of 13/2 collapsing to 4/1. Meanwhile, Mayweather remains the firm favourite but has seen his odds drift over the same time period from 1/14 to 1/6.

The biggest bet placed on the filthy animal so far is £1,861 at 11/2, which will return a tasty €12,096.50 if it lands.
£5,000 is the biggest wager on the American, but at odds of 1/6.
Féilim Mac An Iomaire, a spokesperson for Paddy Power, said “Nothing is predictable when it comes to McGregor and we didn’t foresee this level of support for him when we first set up the market. Normally, you would expect a heavy favourite such as Mayweather to attract the majority of the money through large wagers at short odds but this hasn’t been the case.
Given the nature of the betting we’d be left more battered and bruised than any of the Dubliner’s previous opponents should he upset the odds in August.”
