A Royal Ascot winner would be the icing on the cake for Queen Elizabeth II in her Platinum Jubilee year.

The horse racing fanatic didn’t have a runner in any of the season’s four Classics so far – the 2000 Guineas, 1000 Guineas, Epsom Oaks and Epsom Derby – but Lizzie is set to field some of her stable stars at the five-day festival.

She’s been a regular at the meeting over the years – arriving along the track in a horse-drawn carriage – and has had 24 winners since the 1950s including 2013 Gold Cup scorer Estimate.

The Queen’s Flat horses are running at a strike rate of 19 per cent for the current season and the 96-year-old Monarch has the following horses included among final declarations for races at Royal Ascot 2022.

Frankie Dettori is booked to ride the three-year-old colt, who is a course winner after breaking his maiden status at the track last September.

Just Fine

15:40 – Friday, June 17
Duke of Edinburgh Stakes

The booking of Ryan Moore and a decent reappearance run in last month’s Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Jorvik Handicap has the four-year-old prominent in our betting.

Discretion

17:00 – Friday, June 17
Sandringham Stakes

The daughter of Dubawi is two from four after back-to-back wins last month, she has been raised 6lbs to a mark of 83 for her second run in a handicap.

Spring Is Sprung

18:10 – Friday, June 17
Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes

The three-year-old has been gelded since his last racecourse appearance in February, Spring Is Sprung is towards the bottom of the weights for this handicap off a mark of 87.

King’s Lynn

16:20 – Saturday, June 18
Platinum Jubilee Stakes (Group 1)

You can blame the Queen for firing a dart at the joint-most lucrative race of the meeting but it’s a quick turnaround for King’s Lynn, who could only finish seventh behind Australian speedball Nature Strip in the King’s Stand Stakes on Tuesday.
