The Grand National is finally here and Paddy’s trusty traders have priced up the odds for every runner – but who is the favourite to win this year’s big race at Aintree?

Grand National favourites were stunned by Noble Yeats in last year’s marathon, but the 50/1 outsider made a mockery of his handicap mark and has progressed at a rapid rate over fences this season to establish himself as a proper Grade 1 performer.

The 2023 renewal looks set to be a red-hot affair with Cheltenham Festival heroes and last-time out winners set to take their place in the 40-runner field on Saturday, April 15.

Gordon Elliott has cracked the Cross Country Chase as a prep race for the Grand National and Delta Work heads to Aintree after scoring in the most unique race at the Cheltenham Festival.

The 10-year-old finished third in last year’s renewal and is set to race off a 1lb lower mark compared to 12 months ago.

Corach Rambler is prominent in the market after claiming a repeat victory in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

The Lucinda Russell-trained gelding also boasts course form thanks to a win in a Class 3 novices’ limited handicap chase over regulation fences in October 2021.

Ain’t That A Shame has risen in Paddy Power’s betting for the Grand National as punters latch onto the Rachael Blackmore factor.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding broke his maiden status over fences at the seventh time of asking last time out.

Gaillard Du Mesnil displayed his staying credentials in the National Hunt Chase at last month’s Cheltenham Festival as he needed every yard of the 3m6f trip to get the better of Chemical Energy.

Trainer Willie Mullins has talked up the seven-year-old as a Grand National prospect ever since placing third in last year’s Irish equivalent.

Punters backing Mr Incredible will be hoping he can live up to his name in the Grand National.

Willie Mullins’ charge is officially 2lbs ahead of the handicapper after an impressive staying performance when placing third in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival.

Noble Yeats, the defending champion, is next in our Grand National market despite being rated 19lbs higher by the handicapper compared to last year’s success.

The eight-year-old took his form to new levels by bagging the Grade 2 Many Clouds Chase at Aintree in December before staying on superbly to finish fourth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Any Second Now finished third in 2021 and second last year so it’s hardly surprising to find the Ted Walsh-trained gelding towards the head of our Grand National betting.

A comfortable success in the Grade 2 Webster Cup Chase at Navan should have the 11-year-old spot on for Aintree, although he faces the burden of carrying top weight.

Longhouse Poet is back for another crack having been the sixth home last year.

The nine-year-old is set to race off the same mark as 12 months ago – 155 – and warmed up for Aintree with a 1¼l defeat of Roi Mage at Down Royal.
