Who is the favourite to win the Epsom Derby?

Sir Michael Stoute’s charge Desert Crown successfully tested his credentials with a thrilling victory in Thursday’s Dante Stakes at York, won last year by Hurricane Lane, to climb to the top of our market.

Galileo colt Stone Age attracted plenty of support after a 5½l victory in the Derby Trial Stakes at Leopardstown and is Ballydoyle’s new number one after Luxembourg was ruled out.

Charlie Appleby has supplemented Nations Pride at a cost of £75,000 after impressing in a workout and leads Godolphin’s three-strong squad which is completed by Walk Of Stars and Nahanni.

Aidan O’Brien also has Changingoftheguard prominent in our early betting after the son of Galileo comfortably beat Godolpin fancy New London in the Chester Vase.

Piz Badile won the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown at the start of April and that form has since been boosted by the second, Buckaroo, landing the Tetrarch Stakes earlier this month.
