14:10 Cheltenham – Hunters Yarn (The Punt)
HUNTERS YARN won a maiden at Naas (2m, soft) in January on third hurdle start and again had plenty in hand in Listed novice at Navan (2m, good to yielding) last month. His opening mark is a lofty one and he could do with jumping better in this red-hot handicap, but his top trainer has won two of the last three runnings of this race with inexperienced novices.
14:50 Cheltenham – Three Card Brag (myracing)
For one with a stamina-laden pedigree, THREE CARD BRAG did well to win twice at 2m (bumper/maiden) and his recent form at about 2m4f makes for impressive reading, having pushed the Supreme fourth Inthepocket to a neck (Grade 2) before comfortably accounting for his market rival on return to a non-Graded novice race at Fairyhouse (soft to heavy). Relentless galloper and this race should be right up his street. Big player.
15:30 Cheltenham – Sounds Russian (Andrew Bladen)
SOUNDS RUSSIAN was brought steadily through the ranks over fences last season and has carried on the good work this winter, albeit needing an extra push if he’s to beat Ahoy Senor and Noble Yeats on 3m1f course form in January (soft) on these less favourable terms.
16:10 Cheltenham – Famous Clermont (Whistler)
Slightly concerning that FAMOUS CLERMONT ran so poorly on his one visit here (last April) but he’s a young horse for this scene and evidently improving after making such light work of his last two hunter chases, accounting for respected opposition in the process. Seems fine on all ground. Could be best of the British.
